Fake real estate agent cons minorities Print E-mail
Friday, 14 April 2006
A woman from Austin, Texas, promenading as a real estate agent has reportedly conned a number of prospective buyers, particularly those belonging to minorities.  Myra Trevizo, 44, was corralled by the police and is being charged with five counts of theft.
According to investigators, “for sale” signs were being placed in front of vacant mobile homes with a phone number to contact.  Victims added that they meet with the fake real estate agent and even give a down payment on the property. But they would never hear from the person again.

The Hays County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning about this real estate scam targeting the minorities; and requests residents not to hesitate in contacting the Criminal Investigations Division if they think they might have been a target of a similar crime.
